Guidance Counselor - Trevon Brooks
Dear Parents/Guardians:
My name is Trevon Brooks, and I am the new school counselor for Paulsboro Junior High School. It is truly an honor and privilege to be part of the Paulsboro School District working with the middle school students. I’ve been a part of this community my entire life, done a lot of positive things within the community of Paulsboro and feel extremely blessed to continue to give back to my community.
My journey into the counseling profession started here in Paulsboro when I graduated from Paulsboro High School in 2010. I have an undeniable passion for working with the youth, after years of working in corrections I decided that school counseling was my true purpose. I received my bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice from the illustrious Virginia Union University. I received my master’s degree in School Counseling with a minor in crisis and trauma from Walden University. I have a variety of experiences that contribute to my overall experience as a counselor. My most recent experience has been working as the intern school counselor here at Paulsboro Jr./Sr. High School, helping students navigate through their own self-discovery related to academics, financial aid awareness, and career exploration.
What I love most about the middle school level is a student’s ability to explore more about themselves and what inspires them. This is a great time for students to discover their interests and future. I am excited to meet with students individually, in small groups, and in classrooms. As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. It is important to me that I work closely with students and with parents/guardians, teachers, administration, and staff to ensure your student is receiving all the support they need to guide them through these vital school years.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brooks
